The Master of the Secret by Rhonda Byrne

Bob Proctor from The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, is, to many, not only The Teacher of the Secret but master of it, as well as being The star of the best-selling DVD movie, The Secret. He is a phenomenal teacher and motivator.

It is written that Bob’s wisdom came through a lineage of great teachers beginning with Andrew Carnegie who passed it to Napoleon Hill; then Napoleon Hill passed it to Earl Nightingale; Earl Nightingale then passed the torch of wisdom to Bob Proctor.

Bob Proctor – A leader in the self-help industry

Bob has worked in the self-help industry for over 40 years during which time he has travelled the globe teaching The Secret and helping individuals and companies create lives of prosperity and abundance. He authored You Were Born Rich which he now gives away, and more recently It is not about the Money.

I have read each of these books that are not only great sources of inspiration but also give new paradigms by which to live.

Bob Proctor – Master thinker

I can do no better in expressing my feelings about Bob Proctor’s work than cite the Foreword to You Were Born Rich by Doug Wead, Former Special Assistant to the President in the Bush White House: Zig Ziglar may be the master motivator, Mark Victor Hansen of Chicken Soup for the Soul, the master storyteller; Anthony Robbins may be the guru of personal development, but Bob Proctor is the master thinker. When it comes to systematising life, no-one else can touch him. He is simply the best. Bob Proctor collects thoughts like Imelda Marcos used to collect shoes. He strings them together in exquisite arrays, one thought leading logically to the next until a whole method has been constructed.

The essence of Bob Proctor’s teaching is based on Napoleon Hill’s great work, Think and Grow Rich where desire is stated to be the starting point for all achievement. He believes that everyone was born rich even though some may temporarily be a little short of money.

You can, Bob says, build a picture of prosperity in your mind and then, during your life, go on to create prosperity. He doesn’t profess to tell us anything that we don’t already know; he tells us that he merely expresses the ideas coherently.

Your Aladdin’s Lamp

Bob Proctor’s desire is that his book You Were Born Rich proves to be our Aladdin’s Lamp because all over the world every day millions of so-called dreamers purchase lottery tickets hoping that piles of money will drop into their laps.

Bob believes that the real pleasure in life comes not from having the money dropped into your lap but from going out and actually earning it yourself. Truth is, he says, that we each have the ability to achieve everything that we now just dream about.

We can have all the things we want, but we must understand and apply the principles. The only things that matter are the understanding and application of right thinking. Rewards in this life come not because of potential but because of performance. Reading and memorising is not enough. The ideas he expresses are easy but you must act on them.

Money

Always remember, teaches Bob, that money is the servant and not the master. People who have loved money and used people violate the basic principles. It is essential rather to love people and use money.

It is also important to develop a prosperity consciousness by already envisaging yourself possessing the amount of money for which you wish.

Wealthy people have already developed the state of consciousness that enables them to attract money. They have it because they feel comfortable about it; they don’t feel comfortable about money because they have it.

Note the distinction very carefully. So begin thinking about prosperity now.

Self-talk

Bob Proctor emphasises that all people talk to themselves. So make it good talk. Talk to yourself about how it feels to be wealthy. It enables you to start a programme of self-development.

Furthermore, the present state of your bank account is nothing more than the physical manifestation of your previous thinking. If you truly want to change your outcome, you must change your way of thinking at once.

Bob Proctor says images precede all creation

Remember also that everything we create is first preceded by a thought and a picture in our minds. Consider a soccer player about to take a free kick near to goal.

If he decides to shoot for goal, he will paint a picture in his mind of where his shot will go, he will envisage it going around or over a wall of defenders, the goalkeeper throwing himself at it, failing to reach it, and the ball ending in the net.

It will not be as cumbersome as that. The pictures will flash through his mind a split second before his foot strikes the ball. But he will have envisaged it nonetheless. It doesn’t just happen all by itself.

There were no cars, aeroplanes or spaceships until someone first thought of them. It was only then that they put their thoughts on to paper, drew and created them. The people who thought of these things first built the image in their minds.

Likewise, you can build the image of your wealth and success in your mind and, no matter how hard things may become at times, hold on to those pictures because persistence is the key to success.

It is also important to recognise that money is a reward for service rendered. Those people who provide service to millions of others achieve rewards in proportion to the service they give.

Mental magnitude

Bob also believes in mental magnitude and that everything you are looking for is also looking for you. The secret of receiving the results you want are locked into the Secret Law of Attraction.

He uses the analogy of an acorn that he holds up in his seminars. Everything in the universe is governed by the basic law of creation or disintegration. If something is not in the process of growing, it must therefore be dying.

So long as the acorn is kept out of the earth it is slowly disintegrating. But as soon as the acorn is planted, the vibration sets up an attractive force and the acorn begins to attract everything that vibrates in harmony with it.

The acorn, comments Bob, does not have the ability to change its vibratory rate and can therefore only grow into an oak tree in accordance with its programme.

You, on the other hand, are what he calls a “co-creator” and can choose your own programming. Whatever therefore you plant in your subconscious mind determines what you will grow into eventually.

It is, he says, an orderly universe in which nothing happens by chance. So the images that you bring into your amazing mind set up a force of attraction that governs your results in life. Everything you want is here. All you have to do is to get into harmony with it.
